Our Forests
REFORESTATION
MTEZA CREEK, KENYA
Ground level monitoring and photo verification
We use Veritree to track and assess the growth and survivability of the trees using AI, computer vision and IOT sensors. Aligned to 10 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Bioacoustic monitoring for measuring species diversity
IoT sensors including dendrometers and soil temperature measurement
Coastal Kenya stands as one of the country's less developed areas, relying on mangrove ecosystems for employment, and nutrition. Over the past decades, the southern coastal regions have experienced urbanization, leading to the conversion of mangrove forests into land uses. Combined with ineffective governance, the result has been excessive depletion of mangroves, vital ecosystems that not only impact the livelihoods of communities but also crucial habitats for organisms.
With your backing, we aim to revive Kenya's mangrove forests, empowering impoverished coastal communities to escape poverty. This project focuses on restoring the biodiverse mangrove estuary, offering local fishing grounds, creating additional income through sustainable forest harvests, and providing crucial coastline stabilization for defense during tropical storms.
More Projects
REFORESTATION
MORAHARIVO, MADAGASCAR
More than 90% of Madagascan primary forests have been destroyed, leaving an urgent need to commit to reforestation projects. Habitats need to be restored to improve biodiversity in one of the world's most varied areas for wildlife.
Eden Reforestation Projects are planting millions of trees in this region, helping to support local communities, put back vital ecosystems, and reforest Madagascar.
UK REFORESTATION
SCOTLAND
The Future Forest Company are restoring nature, protecting wildlife and helping fight climate change with a range of projects in Scotland. By planting a variety of native species across the region, FFC are creating vital ecosystems and carbon sinks. They also restore peatlands and plant wildflowers, all with the goal of improving the natural world and securing it for future generations.
SEAFORESTATION
CANADA
Kelp fosters a diverse ecosystem, offering food and shelter to various species such as fish, invertebrates, seaweeds, and algae, essential for their survival. Veritree are supporting kelp planting projects in Canada, ensuring the vibrancy of life underwater for generations to come, and creating natural carbon sinks.
